Working Groups

The most important content-related activities of the scopeArchiv User Group to further the continued development of the application take place in the working groups. The first working groups were set up in 2004, and were known as Erfa groups. The Erfa groups were set up for an unlimited duration and remained in existence until 2006. Since 2007, all working groups are set up for a limited period, disbanding after completing their assignments.

The working groups tackle specific problems or new challenges for scopeArchiv, such as processing audio-visual documents or digital archiving. On the basis of the proposal made by the Board, the General Meeting decides on the establishment and form of working groups. Members are invited to participate in the working groups. A working group is formed if at least four members and one representative of scope solutions ag takes part.

In order to facilitate communication between meetings and without geographical limitations, the working groups have a wiki at their disposal.
On the following pages you will find information on current working groups and on former groups, when they were set up and dissolved, their assignments and their members. The working groups’ documents and working files are stored in the secure area of the website. After each assignment has been completed, the results (final reports, metadata sets, etc.) with the exception of specifications are published and made accessible to all members and interested persons.
